Conference - Passive and Low Energy Architecture (PLEA) 2018

Hong Kong is hosting the annual Passive and Low Energy Architecture (PLEA) conference on sustainable architecture and spatial planning amidst climate change. Ministry of Construction and Physical Planning Heads of sectors Ines Androić Brajčić and Irena Križ Šelendić are attending the conference

This international and annual conference is organized by PLEA which focuses on promoting the development of bioclimatic design and the application of natural and innovative techniques for sustainable architecture and design. Researchers and professionals in the field of construction lead the discussions on smart cities, energy efficiency in buildings and renewable energy sources, human behavior in cities, innovative methods and techniques in architecture. The conference is split into four key aspects of smart and healthy living: Science & Technology, People & Community, Design & Practice and Education & Training.
 
Our Ministry participates in implementing the nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB) standard and national strategy of long-term energy renovation of buildings until 2050. Ministry is also the national body of the transnational URBACT programme as a part of the European Territorial Cooperation programme and it actively participates in implementing the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 11 for inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities.
